NRT CARGO WATCH is an independent, one-person project that tracks dedicated freighter activity at Narita International Airport using public flight-tracking data.
Narita is one of the busiest dedicated-freighter hubs in Asia, but a clear, ongoing view of that activity — how many freighters move through on a given day, which carriers are flying, when the runways are busiest, and how any of that changes month to month — isn't easy to find in one place. NRT CARGO WATCH exists to answer those questions with real, continuously updated data.
It's built for aviation photographers planning a shoot, avgeeks who want to know which carriers and aircraft types are actually flying into Narita, people working in aviation and logistics who want a quick benchmark, and anyone curious about how cargo actually moves through one of the world's major freight gateways.
NRT CARGO WATCH is built and run by a single independent developer based in Japan — not a company, not a team. It started as a personal side project for someone who feeds flight-tracking data and wanted a better way to see what was actually happening in the sky over Narita.
Data processing runs on a home server, which continuously aggregates public flight-tracking data and turns it into the dashboards you see here.
A home server continuously pulls public ADS-B data covering aircraft within range of Narita. Every detected aircraft is checked against a set of rules — callsign, registration, aircraft type — to identify dedicated freighters. The results are aggregated into the hourly, daily, and monthly figures shown across this site. For the full detail on data sources and known limitations, see the About Our Data page.
